Samantha Devcich (aka Samiera Jain) has a voice that you just have to hear! Laura Tuton and I had the opportunity to work with her on her first photo shoot for the artwork in her upcoming EP titled “Notice Me”. The shoot was done in the lovely locations around Brisbane Powerhouse in New Farm.

On the drive in, it started to rain, but luckily it cleared up and held off so we could do what we had to do. The weather was a bit gloomy, but the overcast sky provided relatively even lighting for the shoot. Anyway, that’s enough about the weather! Check out the video below and let us know what you think.

You only turn 21 once, so you should make the most of it, right? Well Megan did! She had a great night, surrounded by family, friends and loved ones – a lovely group of people, which helped make my job and night just that bit easier and enjoyable.

Megan’s party was held at Quay West Suites is Brisbane. I thought it was a great choice of venue, especially the function room that her party was in, which had an alfresco-type area combined with a dance floor and a DJ, an inside area for mingling, drinking, lounging and eating. It wasn’t a huge area, but definitely made good use of space.

Below are some shots I took on the night of her 21st party before Megan and her crew headed off afterwards to party on into the night!

This video is a bit different to the usual behind-the-scenes and wedding videos that I do. This short silent film is about a guy and girl who meet in a coin laundry and later meet up for a “date” at a cafe. The idea behind it all was initially one that Laura Tuton conjured up a while ago, but she hadn’t found the right couple to play the roles of the guy and girl. Thanks to Marie Walter and Peter Wieland: they helped to bring Laura’s idea to life! We hope you enjoy the video and share it around with your mates!

This was my first and biggest regional council related video project, and it was a great opportunity to be a part of, and a privilege to work with some very friendly and talented people. The project was to create a brochure and posters which showcased all of the special events going on within the Moreton Bay region to promote Youth Week 2011. Anyway, we thought we’d go away on a little trip somewhere. Laura thought it’d be a good idea to travel down to Sydney for a few days. She’d been down there before, visiting friends and she loved it, as opposed to me who hadn’t been down there before (except for one time years ago when I was knee high to a grasshopper and I stopped over briefly at Sydney airport with my parents).

We spent 10 days in Sydney city. It’s a lovely place to visit, but I don’t think I’d personally want to live there – within the city region anyway – it’s a bit too “hustle and bustle” for us – for me anyway. Hey, come on, we’re from Brisbane – we’re so laid back, easy going, and don’t take life to seriously – generally speaking!

Throughout our stay, we took a heap of photos, and below are a few that I took that I’d like to share with you. Have a look and let me know what you think.

My partner Laura Tuton and I were the photographers at Liza’s 18th. It was a night of fun, and we’re sure Liza and her friends had a blast, as you should see below. They had a daiquiri machine which was pretty cool! Check out the photos and see what you think.

Jamboree comes around once a year around mid to late August, and is held at Willowbank Raceway, which is about 50km south west of Brisbane. Over the 2 day event, all types of show cars are on display there, as well as the race cars tearing it up down the drag strip. Check out the photos I shot below.
